Thespians

For over 20 years, Ms. Nancy has dedicated her time, talent, and passion to leading Discovery Academy’s Thespians Club. She fosters a lifelong appreciation of the arts in our students, guiding them as they develop their skills and compete at the highest levels. Though she prefers to keep the spotlight on her students, her leadership has helped Troupe 88797 earn numerous awards and accolades.

Why Thespians?

Being part of the Thespians Club offers students much more than just the chance to perform on stage. Through their participation, students develop valuable life skills such as public speaking, teamwork, confidence, and creativity. The club provides a supportive environment where students can express themselves, build lasting friendships, and discover new talents. With Ms. Nancy’s mentorship, Thespians fosters a strong sense of discipline and commitment, preparing students not only for competitions but for future challenges in all aspects of their lives.

Competitions and Tournaments

Our students proudly compete as Troupe 88797, first at the District Level, with the opportunity to advance to State-Level competitions. This year, 12 students participated and showcased their talents in a variety of categories, including:

  • Monologues

  • Duets & Ensembles

  • Costume Design

  • Makeup

  • Music & Singing

Thespian Club Details

  • Meeting Times

    Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 3:30 - 4:30 PM

    Thursdays (as needed): Usually added closer to competitions

  • Membership

    Thespians Club is open to middle school students who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher. Those who meet the academic requirement are selected by Ms. Nancy based on maturity and commitment to their studies.
