Meet Ms. Heather

Hello! I’m Ms. Heather, I have been principal for the last 3 years with Discovery Academy and have had the greatest pleasure to be able to take ownership of the school, with Mr. Chad, over the summer. This is my long time dream come true!

I have been in education since 2009, starting out as a teacher assistant in Kindergarten. I graduated in 2012 from UNCW with my B.A. in Elementary Education, K-6 certified. I have taught in DoDEA schools in Japan and North Carolina, and public schools in North Carolina, Hawaii and Florida.

Mr. Chad and I have 2 children; Dylan (24) and Jordyn (21), who we couldn’t be more proud of! I love spending time on the water, reading, watching crime shows and documentaries and shopping! Christmas is my favorite holiday and I’m a HUGE KC Chiefs fan!

I am beyond excited for this school year! I have a feeling this will be our best year yet!
